A capable truck, the 2025 Sierra 1500 gives you a choice between four different engines. The standard 2.7L TurboMax engine provides 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty for most purposes. You can also opt for one of the two EcoTec3 V8 gas engines or the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine if you need more power for towing or off-roading.

Equipped with the Extended Range battery, the 2025 Sierra EV provides 645 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, but you can opt for the Max Range battery to get up to 760 horsepower. Both battery packs pair with dual-motor four-wheel drive systems, providing exceptional performance on and off the road. This truck also boasts impressive fuel economy estimates.

Utility and Towing Power

With a wide range of cab and bed options, the Sierra 1500 is easy to customize to suit your work or play needs. The regular cab with a standard or long bed is a popular choice for work trucks, offering seats for three and up to 89.10 cubic feet of cargo volume. If you need more space, you can choose the double or the crew cab, with seats for up to six. Depending on the configuration and engine, this truck can tow up to 13,200 lbs.

The Sierra EV comes in only one configuration. Its crew cab boasts a standard five-seat layout, while the bed has a cargo volume of 52.10 cubic feet. This maintains the truck’s overall dimensions compact, meaning it is easier to maneuver across narrow trails or in crowded parking lots. Depending on the battery package, this model can tow up to 10,500 lbs.

Comfort and Convenience

Both trucks offer exceptional comfort inside. The entry models of the Sierra 1500 have more utilitarian interiors, with cloth or vinyl seating surfaces to resist stains and spills. In three-seat and six-seat cabins, the front seat boasts a 40/20/40 split design with convenient under-seat storage. Rear under-seat storage is also standard on the crew cab models.
